Last night I was in a pretty yucky mood. I wanted to just sit on the sofa and watch Grimm and eat chocolate ice cream, which I did… for a little while anyway. After I finished my ice cream I opened a package that lifted my spirits a little bit. It was my hexagon cutter. It cuts 6 hexagons at once. All I could think of was the cookies I’d seen on the Cookie Connection site done by Pamoda Vanderwert. Such beautiful works of art and so much texture. I felt truly inspired. I felt the need to create.
This is what I ended up with. I was pretty pleased and was in a much better mood by the time I was done. Who knew just making the cookie instead of eating it could make one feel better?
There is still one cookie missing from the set. I was supposed to have written a message on one of the honeycomb cookies that said, “Can’t wait for you to BEE here!” I got so carried away with applying texture that I forgot to add the message! Tonight I will bake a plaque cookie and flood it in yellow and add the message and stick a little bee on it. I can’t wait! It’s amazing how a little creativity can lift one’s spirits. What is your creative release?
